Kumbia State School P&C Association held their annual Brain Drain trivia night
"On Saturday 5 August 2023, Kumbia State School P&C Association held our annual Brain Drain trivia night. The Brain Drain is our P&C’s major fundraiser each year and we rely heavily on local businesses for their support and donations in order to make the night a success.
Representatives from the Kumbia State School P&C and RES had been in contact throughout the year, after making contact during the Tarong West Wind Farm Community Consultations held at the Kumbia Hall. A positive working relationship was fostered, so much so, that we were delighted when RES offered to become 2023’s major sponsor.
On the night, 24 teams came together for an exciting night of trivia, food, raffles, novelty games, silent and live auctions and good-natured rivalry. We were pleased to have Wriece and Adam represent RES on the night and trust that they put their trivia knowledge to good use!
We are thrilled to announce that a mammoth profit was made on the night – over $10,000.00! This is a phenomenal amount to be raised from one event and we are proud of the hard work and dedication of our parent organisers and volunteers on the night. And are truly thankful to all of our sponsors of the night, especially our major sponsor RES.
We have pledged to spend the night’s profit to transform Kumbia State School’s Early Years Learning area. With new play and learning spaces to be created, new equipment, new gardens and landscaping required, the money raised from the Brain Drain will be put to good use. Some of these works have already started, and we are pleased with the progress so far.
We are excited to continue our positive relationship with RES and look forward to working with them in the future."
